Crazy how it came out earlier than God of War 2018 and can be argued was first to bring together what made the 2018 reboot unique: The (mostly) one take camera angle and how upclose it can be, the graphical fidelity of environments, good narrative and norse mythology.

Definitely want to recommend watching xbox podcast from this week with Ninja Theory and in Iceland as well as xboxon Henry did a great piece with Ninja Theory and Melina...love your stuff Jake I always love to know your takes even if I may not always see them the same way I really like your oppinions!!

I liked it the first time i played it back on ps4. I tried to replay it on pc recently & it felt really boring for some reason

Judging Hellblade on it's "gameiness" seems ridiculious especially when the intention of the design is to be repetitive and tedious - the game is explaining what people deal with on a daily basis - so ofcourse after a while it get's annoying - THAT'S THE POINT! The combat I can understand people's complaint about. It's not explained, and if you don't understand it - you'll easily be confused and bored. It's not a button masher, and it's not a combo system - it's situational. If you remember those old arcade game where you got 2-buttons and depending on when and in what order you press them different combos come out - that's how Hellblade's combos work. It requires patience, and grit - and that's what they aimed for because Senua herself isn't a fighter, she's new to this just like you - that's the purpose of the experience. You and her are one, experiencing the same thing together.

Grab your favorite controller and play the VR version with the best headphones you've got. It's such an experience, the headphones are a must... I repeat... a must.

I'm really surprised that nobody besides myself calls these type of games, swarm survival games. That title fits it better than "reverse bullet hell".

Hey jake got a question for ya been playin thru burnout paradise recently and been really enjoying do u think the burnout series could make a comeback? I personnaly think that a burnout style game with arcadey driving takedowns and all the other fun stuff would fit well into a big map multiplayer game like the crew could you give us your thoughts

If Insomniac takes any notes from Raven Software on how to do Wolverine justice let it be these 4 things: 1) Real-time healing factor with a regenerative health system. ❤️🩸 2) Blood, guts, gore & dismemberment alongside sick finishing moves. 💀 3) Lunge mechanic for traversing great distances and for dispatching enemies as only Logan can. 4) Lots of various costumes/suits from the comic books and movies.

This game is, without a doubt, one of the best games I've ever played. I couldn't put it down. People who shit on it have no idea what they're talking about and probably haven't played it. Some of the platforming gets ridiculous, yes, but it's truly satisfying once you pull it off. The combat is fantastic and the controls are smooth and snappy. And, oh my god, is it beautiful. Get it!

Hellblade is one of my all time favourites. It sat on my backlog forever and when I finally played it I remember gushing to all my friends about how good it is and that there's no reason they shouldn't play it. I love it so much I did a 100% deathless playthrough in one sitting and uploaded it to UA-cam because I wanted other people to see how good the game is.

i think i saw ur before u buy and was immediately drawn. i played it. i was soo moved. and i'm not a story-guy, i skip cut scenes- but not here. the scene she finds his body... goosebumps. i am really hoping the sequel goes well for them. i'll try it for sure. hello from australia & keep up the good work JB

It has a "very positive" review on steam and 90% of the people I hear talk about it say they like it and try to justify everything wrong with it...... I swear youtubers think their isolated opinion accounts for the whole gaming community XD.... This game is the exact OPPOSITE of "underrated".........

Oh my God this gave me chillls. I've never watched a video from you before but your review on this is legitimately my same review verbatim. I've been alone in my passion for this game since I first played it in 2011. I feel like my life is pre and post this game 😅. I have recently been streaming this for my Sister and BIL and it was so good to see them so totally sucked into the story with me. I always say it's a gamers game. It literally has everything gamers crave. 13 years was a very long time to wait so I was a bit worried about the build up. This game absolutely surpassed all expectations. Obsessed.

Ubisoft did this game dirty as hell the trailers music (i like 2wei so it didn't bother me) and the price point of 49.99 (should have been 30 dollars and 35 for deluxe edition) and finally no one announced the demo on either system store so no one got to play it before the game came out and was stuck in their hate.

I'm 45 and been playing since the 80s. And Stellar Blade is one of the few games that I actually started a new game right after I finished my first play-through at 55 hours. I find the dialogue and the script to be awful; yes, I'm very critical about stuff like that. But the reason it didn't affect me at all is because I never play games like Ninja Gaiden series, Soulsborne series, Devil May Cry series, Bayonetta, Nioh and so on for their story and dialogues. In fact, in most of those games I have no idea what the heck is going on even to this day because I'm 100% focused on the combat. And I consider all those games masterpieces. When I actually want story and dialogue I purposely play a western or jrpg. I never had so much fun hunting for new costumes for Eve.

This show made me believe in good writing and acting again. Outstanding acting and sticking to the source material. The big 3 really knocked it out of the park Lucy max and ghoul

This was quite possibly the most intimate, emotional, and terrifying journey I've taken in a game. It takes this form of digital storytelling to new heights. It's in my top 10 of all time--easy. My female partner even wanted to watch me play it, which never happens.
